The Breckenridge Heritage Alliance (BHA) was founded in December 2006 to promote and protect Breckenridge's unique history and heritage. Through a collection of sites and historic tours as well as programs and events for all ages, the Alliance encourages residents and guests to experience firsthand what life was like in historic Breckenridge. The BHA offers a variety of different tours, hikes and open museums.
EDWIN CARTER MUSEUM
(at the corner of Wellington Rd and Ridge Street)
Take an interactive journey into the life of Breckenridge's famous log cabin naturalist, Professor Edwin Carter. Tour Carter's 1875 museum, where he practiced taxidermy and amassed a collection of more than 3,300 Rocky Mountain animal specimens.
BARNEY FORD HOUSE MUSEUM
(111 East Washington Avenue)
Barney Ford, an escaped slave who prospered and became a prominent entrepreneur and blacks civil rights leader in Colorado. In 1880, Ford became Breckenridge's first black businessman when he opened Ford's Restaurant & Chophouse.

Take a tour through Breckenridge's Nationally Recognized Historic District. Along the way, hear stories about the gold seekers, rough individuals and other hardy souls who lived in Breckenridge more than 100 years ago. Step inside an authentic Victorian home, the historic Briggle House.
ROTARY SNOW PLOW PARK
(189 Boreas Pass Road)
In the years before there were snowplows as we know them, rotary snowplows with giant snow blowing blades were used to clear narrow gauge railroad tracks. Today, visitors at the Rotary Snowplow Park can see a rotary snowplow on display and learn about Breckenridge's railroad history in the park museum.
WASHINGTON GOLD MINE TOUR

Take a journey back in time to Breckenridge's hard rock mining era. Walk underground for a first-hand mining experience and learn to gold pan on site.
LOMAX PLACER MINE TOUR

Let one of our guides take you back in time to Breckenridge's early mining days. Peer inside a miner's cabin, see and feel the original mining equipment and learn to pan for gold. What you find is yours to keep!
