Founded in 1984, the Colorado College Summer Music Festival is one of the most desirable programs in the United States for pre-professional young musicians. The festival brings professional artists/teachers of rare ability and international reputations together with talented and motivated students for three weeks of intensive performance and study. The 44 advanced student musicians who attend the festival participate in small chamber ensembles, chamber orchestra, master classes, auditioned concerto reading with the orchestra and private lessons.
