Hubbard Creek Outfitters offers private ranch hunts and horseback rides on 5000+ acres in the middle of the Gunnison National Forest.

Colorado Hunting with Hubbard Creek Outfitters

With top guides, excellent cooks, horses, vehicles and all camping gear and equipment, we take pride in guaranteeing you a wonderful experience and the quality hunt and adventure of a lifetime.

Archery, muzzle loader, and bugle hunts take place on the ranch as well as in the National Forest during mid-September. Book early to avoid disappointment.

We offer specialized elk hunts tailored to the needs of the sportsman. Combination hunts are also available and include pack in tent camps onto National Forest lands. We have 3 drop camp locations ranging from 10,000 to 10,500 feet. These camps are available for fully guided hunts with cooks, or unguided. All drop camps are by horseback with spectacular views. For unguided hunts the hunters are transported in by horseback with all their gear and food. Camps are checked every other day to transport game from the hunting area to the processor.

We provide all the transportation from Grand Junction to your hunting camp and back after the hunt is over. After the thrill of the hunt is over we can help with: care of the meat, care for the trophy in the field, transportation to the processor, and transportation of your trophy to a quality taxidermist.

Our trail rides leave from our base camp and meander through fields of wild flowers and lead to remote, non-motorized areas that are beyond compare in Gunnison National Forest.

Ride through the mountains, take in the scenery, and enjoy the beauty and splendor of the Western Colorado backcountry, flowers and wildlife that abound all around you. Day trips into the woods and to nearby peaks provide you with panoramic views of the San Juan Mountains to the south, and all the way to Snowmass and Aspen to the north.

Family Summer Backcountry Camping Trips

We also offer summer backcountry camping trips by horseback with plenty of roadless scenic areas with the potential to view wildlife in its natural habitat, plus stream and pond fishing. Pack trips start at $200 per person per night.
