Minturn Anglers are Fly-Fishing Guides Committed to Excellence!

Minturn Anglers is the premier full-service fly shop and guide service with two locations in the Vail Valley and one location in the Denver Metro Area.

We know our local water intimately; we are not a seasonal mass operation. We are the hardest working guides on the river. If we pass through a run that we know holds fish, we don't just keep going. We back row it and adjust our weight and depths until we start hitting fish. Once we start hitting fish, we don't coast. We fish the river hard from the put in to the take out and give you your moneys worth.

We are interested in having you FISH COLORADO WITH US year after year!

WE COVER A LOT OF GROUND: With three full service fly shops and guide services in Denver, Vail and Minturn, we keep an up-to-date beat on more water than any other fly shop or outfitter in the state. This is over 500 miles of river that we know like the back of our hand!

If fishing conditions change drastically following a big rain storm, we will be honest about what you can expect and let you decide if you wish to float or reschedule.

EXPERIENCED GUIDES: Throughout the day, our guides make adjustments to your flies and rig constantly because we know that an extra split shot is the difference between a fish or no fish.

We will always be happy to issue a refund if conditions won't allow for a great day on the river.

WE FISH FOR BIG FISH: We see the big fish you dream about frequently because we fish for them. As guides on the North Platte River in WY, we have learned how to fish the "featureless water" that others skip. Big trout hold in deep runs and behind submerged shelves and structure. We often ignore the banks that everyone fishes; we prefer to fish in the middle of the river. We fish "the flat water" and catch fish while other guides row through.

The best way to keep a kid interested in fishing is for them to catch fish!

FIRST, wait till they're 7 or 8 years old.

SECOND, make it about them. Don't take along your kids while you fish, take your kids fishing.

THIRD, be patient. Exceedingly patient.

Minturn Anglers knows how to teach children to fish by helping with casting techniques, hooking the fish, allowing them to enjoy the fight to reel it in, netting the fish, and then posing for the all important photo.

A kid's fishing camp is offered in Minturn. A one-on-one experience includes a fly rod, reel, and line for the child to take home is available at all our locations..

Spring, Summer and Fall: Combine the time honored western experiences of horseback riding and fly fishing. Our full day trip includes a morning ride, a day of phenomenal fishing, followed by an evening ride. Our wranglers and fishing guides are with you every step of the way.

Few locations in the world are more suited to hosting the perfect high country wedding, and Minturn Anglers has made amazing memories for hundreds of wedding guests. By planning a fishing trip with Minturn Anglers you are guaranteed a STRESS FREE activity that everyone will enjoy. Specialty fly fishing trips compliment your wedding and can include horseback riding, clay shooting, sack lunches to five course dining served stream side.
