Mega Mountain Magic, located three miles North of Leadville, Colorado on Highway 24 offers numerous horseback riding, wilderness camping, and hunting options. All horseback rides offer spectacular views of Mt Elbert and Mt Massive, Colorado's two highest peaks. For those too young to get on horseback try a mule drawn wagon ride. Mega Mountain Magic also offers back-country overnight pack trips, fishing trips, and photography trips as well as guided hunts, drop camps & pack-in service for Hunters in Game Management Units 45, 48 & 49.

GUIDED HORSEBACK RIDES

One hour and 2 1/2 hour rides take you on trails often used by deer and elk. You'll see some ruins from the 19th century mining boom and enjoy the beauty of high alpine wildflowers. It's easy to imagine riding here 120 years ago.

Full and half day rides are for those folks who just can't get enough. You'll see signs of deer, elk and bear as we gain nearly 2,000 feet of elevation and pass above timberline. There are several options to these rides depending on the remaining snow pack. You may pass an old logging camp and historic mining sites, but you will see amazing views and as one guest said last year experience a "Sound of Music" feeling as the ride approaches timberline following a stream through an alpine meadow.

Weenie Roasts are available at 11:00 Sunday thru Wednesday and 4:30 pm Wednesday thru Saturday, reservations are required. This ride lasts about 1 hour. You and your family will ride by horseback or wagon to a beautiful mountain camp for an old-fashioned campfire and all you can eat weenie roast. Enjoy a casual lunch or dinner of fire roasted beef hotdogs, chips, cookies and soft drinks. Finish with your personally made s'mores.

BACK-COUNTRY OVERNIGHT PACK TRIPS

One Pack Trip option takes you high up into the Holy Cross Wilderness to a camp hidden just seconds from two trout filled lakes. While at camp you can relax with a cold one, wander around taking in the rugged serenity, or climb to the top of the Great Divide. Later when you see all of the stars, you'll be amazed at how close they seem.

Another option is a wildlife photography trip into the Buffalo Peaks Wilderness. You are also invited to design your duration and activities.

FISHING TRIPS

Mega Mountain Magic has a fishing destination to suit everyone's taste. Choose from fly fishing the headwaters of the Eagle River, trolling on Turquoise or Twin Lakes, or trying to outsmart native brooke and brown trout in an alpine glacial lake.

Fishing trips last as long as you like from half day to several days!

HUNTING

As a licensed Colorado Hunting Outfitter Mega Mountain Magic provides outfitting services for all big game hunts. Whatever you need they'll get it! Be it a full service guided hunt, a drop camp or just someone to pack in your gear.
