We are a comfortable family friendly inn, and our goal is to make your travel experience as pleasant as possible.

Built in 1888 as a rooming house for the bustling business brought to Salida by the Denver and Rio Grand Railroad, it catered to the workers who built and kept the railroad running. Today it continues to offers unique guest rooms with private baths plus a large outdoor hot tub, beautiful flower beds, roomy decks, and spacious patios. It is conveniently located one block from the Arkansas River and in town within easy walking distance to shopping and dining.

The Buffalo Peaks Cottage with a custom handmade king bed and full kitchen. This private cottage is both ground floor and free standing with parking right in front of the door.

Two 1-bedroom, one-bath apartments are also available for rent, these units are located in town about a block from The Thomas House. Each has a queen bed, full kitchen, washer and dryer.

Relax in the Reading Room downstairs, it's furnished with the latest newspaper and magazines. The living room has a pellet stove and digital cable television for your enjoyment. The kitchenette at the end of the hall is available to all of our guests. We keep it stocked with coffee and tea, as well sodas and there is always a jar of pretzels, perfect for snack time for the kids.

We also have many roomy decks and patios plus an outdoor hot tub.
