This is the "Granddaddy of Colorado Rodeos"

CATTLEMEN’S DAYS in Gunnison is Colorado's pride and joy; and is the oldest continuous ProRodeo in the state and fourth oldest in the country, returns to its traditional dates. This year’s event -- with a parade, carnival, horse shows, equine competitions and rodeo -- will take place in July, 2023, at Fred R. Field Western Heritage Center in Gunnison.

For more than a century, the Gunnison Valley has celebrated its western way of life with annual demonstrations of roping, racing and riding skills. This annual get-together of local cowboys and cowgirls is a PRCA event that attracts the world's top cowboys, the best livestock from across the country and much more. It is expected to be part of a nationally televised campaign on The Cowboy Channel.

Horse shows, horse races, and of course rodeo events sanctioned by the Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association (PRCA).

Staged PRCA Event Attract Competitors from Around the World

THURSDAY, July 13 -- FIRST PERFORMANCE OF OUR PRCA RODEO -- Tough Enough to Wear Pink performance recognizing the fight against cancer. It is the No. 1 TETWP event in the PRCA. There also is a 4-H market sheep show, swine show, TETWP dance at the Elks Lodge and carnival at the Fred R. Field Western Events Center.

FRIDAY, July 14 -- SECOND RODEO PERFORMANCE -- Patriot Night performance (everybody wears red, white and blue), 4-H meat goat show, 4-H cattle show, dance at the Elks and carnival.

SATURDAY, July 15 -- THIRD RODEO PERFORMANCE -- Gunnison Ranchland Conservation legacy performance, Cattlemen's Days parade, 4-H livestock buyers' barbecue, 4-H scholarship presentation and carnival.

CATTLEMEN'S DAYS TETWP SONGWRITER SHUFFLE -- An outdoor evening of live music and friendship in the majestic mountains of the Gunnison Valley featuring features Nashville singer-songwriters performing at the finest local homes.

CATTLEMEN'S DAYS 4-H HORSE SHOW -- Show in the morning and speed events to follow.

4-H GENERAL PROJECT -- 4-H dog obedience show, team ranch sorting, 4-H project revue and auction.

4-H RABBIT & POULTRY SHOW -- Watershed team roping and barrel racing auction.

4-H and FFA SWINE & MARKET SHEEP SHOWS

4-H ROUND ROBIN SHOWMANSHIP -- 4-H and FFA goat and cattle shows.

4-H JUNIOR LIVESTOCK AUCTION -- 4-H and FFA livestock Buyers' barbecue, and 4-H and FFA scholarship presentations.

Location in Gunnison at the Fred R. Field Western Heritage Center

LOCATION: Gunnison is in southwest Colorado between Montrose and Salida just off US Highway 50. Cattlemen's Days takes place at Fred R. Field Western Heritage Center, one block south of Highway 50 behind the Safeway.

DRIVING DIRECTIONS: In Montrose at intersection of US Highway 550 (Townsend Avenue) and US Highway 50 (Main Street) head east on US 50 for 64 miles. In Gunnison, turn right onto South Spruce Street, and your destination is on your left. In Salida, take US Highway 50 West for 64 miles, note at the stoplight when US 50 junctions with US Highway 285; merge right to continue on US 50; in Gunnison, turn left onto South Spruce Street your destination is on your right.

2023 TICKETS GO ON SALE (TBA): Buy your Event Tickets at the Cattlemen's Days ticket booth at Gunnison Bank & Trust or buy your tickets at the door. Cost $20 for general admission; $25 for reserved grandstand seating. Each child under 12 accompanied by a paid adult is $5 (general admission) or $10 for grandstand seating.
