The Pioneer Guest Cabins strike the perfect balance of being away from it all but only 8 miles to town for shopping, festivals, outdoor concerts and only 15 minutes to the ski area of Crested Butte Mountain Resort. Being on National Forest land and with the creek running through the property, one can enjoy hiking, mountain biking, snowshoeing and cross country ski trails right from you cabin door!!! For the avid fisherman, Cement Creek is right out your door and world class fishing on the Gunnison, Taylor and East Rivers are just right down the road.
For couples seeking a romantic retreat or families wanting quality time together, the Pioneer Guest Cabins offers special times together all year long! A great place for families to escape and explore nature, play in the creek, ride bikes, play croquet and horseshoes, go sledding, building snowmen and just enjoy each other and the great outdoors. Don't forget about downhill skiing, dog sledding, rafting, horseback riding, hiking, rock climbing and more!
In winter, ski and snowboard the world-class terrain of Crested Butte Mountain Resort or explore over 45 kilometers of groomed classic and skate ski trails on Nordic skis. We have snowshoes to rent here at the resort with lots of fun trails right from you cabin door!
Summer is truly breathtaking in Crested Butte. A National Historic District and the Wildflower Capital of Colorado, Crested Butte exudes deep history, charm and magnificence in summer. Come enjoy the Wildflower Festival, free outdoor concerts, the famous Crested Butte July 4th Parade and fireworks and Arts Festival in August and many other weekly events all summer long.
If you haven't seen Crested Butte in the fall well then you are just plain missing out!! OUR CABINS
Our 4 Historic Cottages were built in the 1920's to house the skiers from the first lift serviced ski area right here, The Pioneer! All our chinked log cottages feature antique furnishings, 2 cozy beds, gas fireplaces and fully equipped kitchens and baths. Each cottage is nestled amongst spruce, fir and aspen with Adirondack chairs, picnic tables, grills, private fire-rings and hammocks outside the cabins. With the constant sound of the roaring creek, a good night's sleep is pretty much guaranteed.
Our 2 story Mountain Cabins were built in the late 1960's and sit close to the creek or up on the hill at the base on the old Pioneer Ski Area. All 4 Mountain Cabins feature antique furnishings, 3 cozy beds, fully equipped kitchens and bath, and gas and real fireplaces. Outside enjoy peeled log chairs, grills, hammocks, private fire-rings and picnic tables.
With several grassy areas for tents and meeting spots, The Pioneer Guest Cabins are perfect for weddings, retreats and family reunions!!
All our cabins are smoke-free, immaculate and are totally winterized.
We are dog friendly and are open year round.
