- The Topaz Lodge has been owned by the same family for most of the past 30 years, with the second generation purchasing the business in January 2005.
The Lodge is 125 years old and a Buena Vista landmark. The 2-story portion of the building was built in 1879 and rumored to have been a brothel for many years. It now houses a private residence. In the early 1900s the first motel rooms were added to the original building, then in the 1950s 5 more rooms where added along with our classic roadside sign.
Featuring 18 guest rooms with in-room coffee, cable TV with remote control and direct dial phones. Pet rooms available. FREE WI-FI. All non-smoking. Our premier 2-room family units are some of the largest in town with 1 room offering a Queen, Double, and Twin bed while the second has 2 Queen Beds and a Twin bed.
The lodge is within easy walking distance to restaurants and shops. The Buena Vista area offers many ways to enjoy the outdoors including: rafting, hiking, mountain climbing, fishing, hunting, photography, soaking in the area hot springs and playing golf. In winter the adventure continues with snowmobiling, downhill skiing, cross-country skiing and ice fishing!
