Snowmobile near Grand Mesa, the largest flat-top mountain in the world, and you're sure to have a good time. With roughly 800 square miles of trails and an average of 35 feet of snowfall a year, the area is a snowmobiler's paradise.
Most of Grand Mesa's trails are at 9,000 feet or above and regularly groomed. The main section of trail is called the "SP" for "Sunlight to Powderhorn." The rest of the trails are numbered according to the mile marker at which they intersect the SP as you travel east. The trails offer something for everyone, from the calm Land's End Loop to more experienced climbs.
Remember to share the trail, however. At times, the snowmobile trails cross paths with the three nearby cross-country skiing areas. Riders should heed crossings and stay on the trail. Cross-country paths are marked with blue and should not be used by snowmobiles.
