Staged PRCA Event Attract Competitors from Around the Country
2020 RODEO SEASON -- Cattlemen’s Days 2020 announces that we have been given a variance from Gunnison County to hold our annual PRCA rodeo, 3 nights over Labor Day Weekend, September 3-5, 2020. We are the oldest continuous rodeo and the 4th oldest professional rodeo in the nation. The Cattlemen’s Days celebration persevered during World War I, the 1918 Pandemic, World War II, and the Great Depression.
For more than a century, the Gunnison Valley has celebrated its western way of life with annual demonstrations of roping, racing and riding skills. This annual get-together of local cowboys and cowgirls is a PRCA event that attracts the world's top cowboys, the best livestock from across the country, and much more.
Cattlemen's Days features a county fair, parade, carnival, live music and dancing, horse shows, horse races, and of course rodeo events sanctioned by the Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association (PRCA).
This year we must raise at least $150,000 to put on this professional rodeo, which is fan-less but will be nationally televised on the Cowboy Channel for the whole cowboy nation to enjoy.
