Morgan County -- Where the Prairie Meets the Sky

An hour from Denver, Morgan County feels like a world away with its rural charm and wide-open spaces. An integral part of the High Plains region, this area is characterized by blue skies, expansive prairies and friendly people.

OUTDOOR RECREATION: Biking and hiking trails, disc golf, bird watching, golf, fishing at Doty Pond at Brush's Prairie Trails Park, jet skiing at Jackson Lake State Park, and I-76 Speedway with its dirt track.

CULTURE: Barn Quilts, Glenn Miller, Cemetery Tour, Fort Morgan's Historic Main Street, Sherman Street National Historic District, and Old Trail Schoolhouse.

MUSEUMS - PARK - HERITAGE -- PROVIDE A PEEK INTO OUR PAST

JACKSON LAKE STATE PARK: This ideal Colorado Destination for camping is an oasis with sandy beaches and warm waters. Plan to swim, boat, water-ski and fish.

LONGMEADOW GAME RESORT CLAYS CLUB: Specializes in dove, pheasant, chukar, goose, duck, turkey, elk and whitetail deer hunting, and a sporting clays course. There is an Event Center venue for weddings, reunions, and parties.

SWENEY CYCLE PARK: A premier motorcars track facility in Brush. The track is approximately 1.1 miles in length and contains tabletops, step-ups, step downs, rollers, off camber corners and a huge canyon jump. Hosts AMA Pro-Am events. The track has also been voted "Track of the Year" by District 25 riders seven times in the last fifteen years.

THE QUAIL DUNES COURSE: A beautiful 18-hole, par 72 course with yardage ranging from 5,300 to 6,600 yards and four different tee boxes to accommodate all levels of golfers. Built on 165 acres, there are 57 acres of native area throughout the course. Wildlife habitat in this area is home to eagles, hawks, deer, quail, pheasant and coyotes. GRILL ON THE HILL RESTAURANT and PRO SHOP on-site. The Quail Dunes Golf Course was designated as an Audubon Wildlife Sanctuary in 1994.

THE COURSE AT PETTEY'S PARK: A 9-hole public course full of beauty and plenty of challenge. Opened in 1971 as Bunker Hill Country Club, thousands have played and came back again for the BEST 9-HOLE COURSE IN EASTERN COLORADO. The Course at Pettey's Park opened to the public in 2015 to much adulation. Golf experts agree that our course is one of the best public courses in the state, and provides an amazing experience. With well-maintained greens, enjoy the lifestyle and facilities. Complete PRO SHOP, and THE COURSE CAFE RESTAURANT AND BAR on-site . OUR CALENDAR IS FILLED WITH FANTASTIC EVENTS YEAR-ROUND

Summer months bring the largest rodeo in its class -- Brush Rodeo, the celebration of being big-band leader Glenn Miller's boyhood home is culminated in Fort Morgan's annual SwingFest. Oktoberfest in Brush and Fort Morgan's Fall Harvest Car Show are can't-miss gatherings.

JULY 2-4, 2019 -- 65th ANNIVERSARY BRUSH RODEO AND DANCE: Celebrating Cowboys, Kids, and Country! 3 days of Pure Rodeo Fun! Established in the 1950s, activities include: Brush Rodeo Queens, Mutton Bustin', free BBQ, Little Princess Rides, a fantastic display of 4th of July Fireworks and a parade, an art show, and dance.

SEPTEMBER 20-22, 2019 -- FALL HARVEST CAR SHOW: Vehicles of almost every era cruise their way to downtown Fort Morgan, for three days! Come watch the casual cruise in and then live music on Friday. Saturday brings the Show 'n Shine, vendors, door prizes, music, a movie and more cruising! The Poker Cruise, Show 'n Shine and awards finish up on Sunday.

SEPTEMBER 27-29, 2019 -- 37th ANNUAL BRUSH OKTOBERFEST: Enjoy German music, polka dancing, food and of course-beer. Celebrate Oktoberfest and the Car and Motorcycle Show. Vendors, live entertainment, an authentic Volksmarch, 5K walk and run, dog show, poker run, cruise-in and more!

JUNE 13, 2020 GLENN MILLER SWING FEST: Held in Fort Morgan, Colorado each year to honor Glenn Miller who graduated from Fort Morgan High School in 1918. Come enjoy numerous musical groups as they perform live at Fort Morgan City Park, a Glenn Miller documentary movie shown in the park, a fly-over pancake breakfast from our local Lions Club, a cemetery tour of Miller's ancestry, and participate in swing dance lessons.
