A trip on the Cripple Creek & Victor Narrow Gauge Railroad, reveals scenic wonders around every curve as century-old steam locomotive transports you back to the gold mining days of Cripple Creek & Victor, Colorado. The old steam engine with its pillaring smoke, sounds of steam and working steel, all the effects familiar to the hardy miners who rode the Midland Terminal roadbed when Cripple Creek District's population approached over 50,000.

OUR LOCOMOTIVE: Our 15 ton iron horse is the 0-4-0 type typical of the early day steam engines was an important part of winning of the West. The track goes south from Cripple Creek, past the old Midland Terminal Wye over a reconstructed trestle, past many historic mines and finishes near the deserted mining camp of Anaconda, then returns to Cripple Creek.

GIFT SHOP: Our gift shop and ticket office are next to the original Cripple Creek Midland Depot that were rescued from the old Midland Terminal line, originally built in 1894 as the Anaconda station. Our gift shop has a selection of t-shirts, books, logo items, 'Thomas the Tank' items and many more.

GENERAL INFORMATION for Cripple Creek and Victor Narrow Gauge Railroad

HOURS OF OPERATION: The first train leaves the station at 10am from late-May thru early-October. Trains then leave every 70 minutes from our 1894 depot and gift shop at the head of historic Bennett Avenue in Cripple Creek.

GROUP AMENITIES: Advance Reservations Required, Bus and Motorhome Parking on-site, Group Rates Available for 13+ people.

RATE INFORMATION: Adults $17; Children ages 3-12 $12; Children under 3 are Free; Seniors over 65 $15. For group rates please call.

LOCATION: Cripple Creek and Victor Narrow Gauge Railroad is in south central Colorado in Cripple Creek along the Gold Belt Tour Scenic Byway. This Pikes Peak Area attraction is 60 minutes from Colorado Springs; from the Junction of I-25 and US 24 drive west on Highway 24 to Divide. In Divide head south on CO 67 into Cripple Creek. From the Cañon City in the Royal Gorge Region take one of 3 routes along the Gold Belt Tour Scenic Byway: Phantom Canyon is 40 miles and takes 2 hours along a mostly gravel road that the family car can handle easily; Shelf Road is better with a 4WD, this 27 mile route will take 70 minutes; and your final choice is High Park Road, a 50 mile route on pavement that will take 70 minutes.
